We are proud to have submitted a planning application for a vibrant new neighbourhood of 154 homes on land at Rampton Road in Cottenham. The proposals include a mix of spacious starter and family homes, with 40% allocated as affordable housing. Designed as an eco-friendly development, all homes will benefit from cycle storage and non-fossil fuel heating.
Our landscape-led scheme will include significant areas of open green space, including a central village green and a woodland area. Thoughtfully designed recreational areas are a key characteristic of the proposal, including both equipped and informal play areas for local children and teenagers.
Biodiversity is at the heart of the development, with the plans detailing careful planting of native shrubs, grasses, and meadow mixes, and trees on the edge of the neighbouring Les King Wood.
David Gelling, our Managing Director, comments: “Cottenham is a vibrant and beautiful village and our proposals will complement its strong sense of community. With a mix of family and starter homes, our eco-friendly scheme will create amazing homes and open green spaces for the whole community to enjoy.
I’m proud that the proposed scheme will provide additional benefits for Cambridgeshire residents. Because This Land’s™ sole shareholder is Cambridgeshire County Council, the revenue that we return to the Council supports the delivery of vital front-line services.”
