Housebuilder, This Land, has appointed Khalid Shaban as its new Head of Development responsible for bringing long-term value and a coherent approach to the new development process. He brings with him extensive industry experience having worked in real estate development both in the UK and internationally.
In his new role, Khalid will work with other parts of the business and stakeholders to ensure the company’s development portfolio meets its business plan objectives and achieves its financial targets. Reporting to acting Chief Executive David Lewis, Khalid will also oversee the development team’s activities by supporting them with their specific project needs and help them navigate the design, development, planning, procurement, and delivery stages of their sites.
Khalid joined This Land as Senior Development Manager in May 2019 and has been responsible for negotiating with third parties to deliver developments that add value to the local community and meet the company’s business strategy. An experienced real estate development executive with a broad UK and international development background, he previously worked for Colchester Amphora Trading, Anya Development Management in Cyprus and as General Manager for Real Estate Development at Majid Al Futtaim, a major retailing and entertainment developer in the Middle East. Prior to this, he had over 10 years’ experience in project management at Atkins, Mott MacDonald and Portsmouth City Council.
